I was inspired by my past blog of our bedroom to show you how far other rooms in our home have come. Unfortunately, I didn't take any before pictures of our house. However, fortunately my mom did snap a few of us working on it.
In the above picture, notice the old gold doorknobs. Throughout the house they were all scratched up, worn, and most of them were different types of doorknobs. The only thing the same was that they were a brassy gold color. We replaced them all with pewter knobs.
In this picture Dad and Erick are moving the box for the light fixture. There was a single fan that hung here, but it was not centered to anything. We replaced it with the fixture below. You will also notice in the before shot that we had already scraped off the popcorn ceiling and were waiting to paint it.
In the picture with my dad you will see that almost all of the walls in the house were white. But they weren't just white. They were painted 20 years ago and never been touched, dirty white. I know you are asking yourselves why in the world did we not keep the curtains. But don't worry, they found a much better home in the shabby chic guest room at my mom's house.
